So all of the previous being said...I lost my back-up lens a couple weeks ago for the 'shit' eye, and decide to ride my bike to an annual U of M band friend reunion. All was fine until Friday night, drinking, campfire and 'flick', the fucking lens pops off and onto the ground or into the fire. I'm stupid drunk, no one understands whats up, and I'm furiously looking for it.
So Saturday was a journey into being half-blind. The friends really didn't notice, but I did bump into a door frame or two. Main concern was getting home...on my bike. I never realized the eye thing actually affected my balance, and a 2 wheeled ride home was not going to be fun.
So Sunday morning came, and I embraced my personal 'suck', and drove on. Within 10 minutes of leaving, the sky blackened , and it started to rain. So, rain sucks as it is, I didn't bring a rain suit and I don't have good goggles this year for a couple of reasons, add being one eyed, this presents a problem!
I keep it short, I plow through like Popeye, and pray, squint, and drive 55. It took 4 hours to go 100 miles, I KNOW everyone that passed me thought I was an ass, but hey, I couldn't see. On top of all that the rain NEVER truly let up and at times it was like needles hitting my skin. The point being I went through all of that, and made it safely home. God rocks, and so do the prayers I received from those knowing what I was up against. I still am waiting for my lens, but today I'm not cursing my darkness.
